Welcome to the home of the Second Generation Bluegrass Band, based in Freeland, Maryland, a short possum run from the Mason Dixon Line. We play all types of bluegrass, including original material.

Our band was formed by Paul "Butch" Neal, a well-known mandolin player who played alongside many of the bluegrass greats, before passing away in 2008 at the age of 92. Butch called our band "Paul Neal and the Second Generation."

The band's energy and chemistry provide a varied show, from hard-driving banjo tunes to mandolin, guitar and dobro leads on familiar old-time numbers, to close harmony gospel music and just good fun songs.

We would love to bring music to your festival, reception, community or church event, party or other function.
For booking information, just call us at 410-804-4321 or 443-904-6421.
